"PUT ME IN COACH"

SPORTS PARENT CLASSES

Our parent orientation programs are our most unique and talked about programs.  We focus on peeling back the layers of parental thoughts, actions and philosophies and how they affect the kids that play the games.  Our parent programs go all out to challenge many misconceptions of youth sports, competitive leagues, college and professional athletic opportunities and the general thoughts about our kids and their true abilities as athletes.    We finish each session by forming a youth sports parenting action plan that will help us understand our kids better and help them to achieve success in youth sports.  Some of the topics covered in our "Put Me In Coach" Parent Educational Seminars are:

  • Why kids play/Why kids quit
  • –Purpose of Youth Sports
  • –Expectations (Is your player as good as you think?)
  • –Types of parents (“Jekyll & Hyde”)
  • Your players image?? . . . . Look in the mirror!
  • –Handling kids expectations
  • –Dealing with victory . . . And defeat !
  • Are you a "shotgun seat" coach?
  • Do your actions/expectations hinder your child's sports development?
  • –Leagues – Recreational Vs Competitive “What is best for my child?”
  • Competitive Leagues - How many championships has your 12 year old won?
  • Odds of making it to the pros - "What is your Plan B"
  • –One Sport Specialization – When is the right time? If ever?
  • –Understanding rules – “Do you really?”
  • –Sports Parenting Ethics
  • –Understanding and relating to youth coaches
  • –Understanding and relating to game officials (Umpires/Referees)
  • When The Rubber Meets The Competitive Road and how to cope. Are you prepared to pick up the pieces when he/she doesn't make the team??
