STRENGTH AND SPEED COACH DAN BESSETTI

Dan Bessetti. M-PACT's  Strength, Speed and Conditioning Director has been helping athletes excel at their chosen sport for over 13 years.    His success comes from a focus on building the total athlete.  He accomplishes this by addressing strength, flexibility, conditioning, power, agility, and speed.   Only by addressing each of these components will an athlete achieve his/her full potential.   This “total athlete” approach is carried out within a developmental framework – recognizing that there are windows of opportunity to develop specific athletic qualities as a young person is maturing.   Coach Bessetti’s approach to training athletes combines the ideal amount, type, and level of training for an athlete’s specific sport within limits appropriate for an athlete’s age, physical maturity, and mental readiness.

From elementary school-age athletes to post collegiate professional athletes, Coach Bessetti has the experience and know-how to successfully train them all.  His Knight Force program at the university of Central Florida introduced hundreds of young athletes to a systematic training program and was utilized by youth participating in baseball, soccer, football, track, swimming, lacrosse and basketball.  At the college level, Coach Bessetti's athletes have garnered 64 All-Conference Awards, 13 All-Region Awards, and 11 All-American Awards.  Bessetti has trained 7 Major League Baseball draft picks, 2 Major League Soccer signees (Eric Vasquez, Columbus Crew; Ryan McIntosh, DC United), and 1 NBA draft pick (Brandon Hunter, Boston Celtics).  Additionally, he has assisted in the development of numerous former and current NFL players including local products Brandon Marshall (Denver Broncos), Alex Haynes (Carolina Panthers), and Mike Walker (Jacksonville Jaguars), 2 time Super Bowl winner Asante Samuel (Philadelphia Eagles) and UCF's record setting running back Kevin Smith (Detroit Lions). 

A powerful and effective coach of individual athletes, Dan's true passion lies in working with entire teams.  Coach Bessetti loves to harness the energy of group dynamics and create a positive and inspiring atmosphere where individuals shine and the team surpasses the sum of its parts.  He has effectively used his team training skills with the following sports:  football, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, tennis, volleyball, track & field, cross country, wrestling, swimming & diving, and lacrosse.  His extensive experience and education allows him and intimate familiarity with the physical demands and requirements that each sport presents its athletes.  More importantly, he has accumulated years of "in the trenches" experience working with athletes and teams designing programs that simply work.

Coach Bessetti holds strength and conditioning certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches’ Association.  He is also certified by USA Weightlifting and USA Track & Field, and he is certified in CPR.

PERSONAL TRAINER HILARIE BESSETTI

Hilarie BesettiHilarie Bessetti has had a passion for fitness and sports throughout her life. While recognizing that becoming fit includes exercising and taking care of one’s body, Hilarie also believes in a complete mind and body connection and she carefully works with her clients on this component. Hilarie focuses on lifestyle and behavior changes with her clients in order to make permanent impacts on their overall fitness levels. She accomplishes this by educating her clients on proper nutrition and healthy habits. She is extremely enthusiastic about working with clients who are trying to lose weight and enjoys motivating her clients as they work towards their goals.

Her most recent award includes certification from the American Sports and Fitness Association as a Certified Personal Trainer. Prior to this designation, she graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1999. In 2005 she earned certification as a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst. In 2006 she completed her Masters of Arts degree in Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University. Each of these degrees and certifications assist Hilarie in her day to day coaching by empowering her with behavioral knowledge that other personal trainers lack.
